Buzinski Judgment and Decision-Making Lab

(Lab Member Roster)

Welcome! Our laboratory conducts basic and applied research on judgment and decision-making, with interests in self-regulation and learning processes. The following are our current lines of inquiry.

Attention, Construct Activation, and Environmental Behavior. In this line of work, we are interested in how situated attention interventions can influence the cognitive activation of pro-environmental goals and increase environmental behaviors.

Prospect Theory and Career Decision-Making. In this line of work, we are investigating the self-regulatory moderators of gain- and loss-framing on early career decision-making.

Autonomy and Restriction on Academic and Health Motivation. In this line of work, we are interested in the role of autonomy-supportive and restrictive framing on academic (e.g., studying, procrastinating) and health (e.g., physical activity, healthy eating) motivation.

Social Anxiety Responses in Active Learning Classrooms. In this line of work, we are studying the effects of social anxiety on students’ classroom experience during socially interactive (“active learning”) activities.
